Carson: “I was naive, but no regrets”
Scott Carson admits he was ‘naive’ to join Liverpool and expect to get into the first team straightaway. He was loaned out Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Aston Villa and finally making a £3.25million switch to West Bromwich. However, he insists that he has no regrets.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: “I suppose I was naive going somewhere like Liverpool and expecting to get a chance straightaway - it was always going to be difficult.
“I’ve had a few years there and I have gained a lot of experience playing with top players and also seeing how different managers work.
“But it would have been nice to have a few more chances with Liverpool, but that was all down to the manager.
“I don’t really regret any of my career moves, I’ve had good times wherever I’ve been.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge at The Hawthorns. Hopefully now that I’ve made a permanent move I can get back to playing well and everyone will see the best of me.”

Yes, he certainly was naive. He is a good keeper and apart from a lack of confidence last season has done well but Pepe Reina is a superb keeper and for the last two seasons, his golden gloves awards have proved it.
