Liverpool’s reserve striker Jordy Brouwer has said that his so far successful time at Anfield has been partly because of his national team mate Ryan Babel.

Brouwer played a big part in Gary Ablett’s successful season as Reserve team manager winning, Northern Title, Dallas Cup and the National Reserve Championship.

Brouwer told Liverpool’s offish site “I look up to all the players here, especially the forwards,” the 20-year-old told Liverpoolfc.tv.

“With Ryan Babel, we sometimes stay back after training and work together. We work on our touches and everything. Of course, he is someone I admire. I knew him a bit from Ajax, so that helped when I came here”.

Brouwer also commented on his reserve team Hungarian partner Krisztian Nemeth. After Nemeths enjoyed a run in the first team squad during pre-season Brouwer commented saying “It was good playing with Krisztian. I play with him up front but the most important thing is the winning. I think we play very well together – every game the partnership got better. I did my thing and I knew my goals would come. You have to concentrate on your game.”

Brouwer is currently tipped to join Eredivisie side FC Utrecht in a loan move for the coming season.
