Benitez pleased with professional display (Podcast)

With such a crucial match for Liverpool coming up in midweek, their preparations could not have been better as they eventually eased to a 3-0 win over a woeful Newcastle United.
Persistence paid off eventually after a frustrating opening to the game when the ball rebounded off Jermaine Pennant from Jose Enrique’s attempted clearance on 42 minutes before Fernando Torres’ 7th goal in just four matches ensured it was plain sailing for the Reds.
Steven Gerrard killed the game off just 5 minutes into the second half, allowing manager Rafa Benitez to rest the in-form Spanish striker and England midfielder ahead of the trip to Milan to take on Inter.
And Benitez says he was happy with the manner of victory.
