Babel up for grabs in January?

Published by Redneck on November 27, 2008

Ryan Babel is a surprise target for La Liga giants Real Madrid as speculation surrounding the Dutchman’s Anfield future increases.

FansFC reported that Bernabeu chiefs are looking for a World-Class forward to compensate the loss of Ruud Van Nistlerooy due to injury, and Babel fits the bill.

Ryan can play out on the left-wing or up-front as a striker, and manager Rafael Benitez could find a bid over £15million too tempting for a player he fails to add to the starting line-up on a regular basis.

The summer purchase of Albert Riera saw the demise of Babel’s starting chances and has since been unable to force his way into Benitez’s plans, warming up the bench far too often.

He did however recently declare that he wants to remain at Anfield so we will have to wait and see if the temptation of Spanish sunshine is too much for the 21-year-old.

Dont be fucking stupid. Pointless, ridiculous article.

It was at the game last night and Babel was visibly annoyed when Yossi come on for Riera. I got the impression he has had enough and would not be shocked to see him leave either in January or in the summer.

babel can improve or stop sulking

  4. dougie on Thu, 27th Nov 2008 2:27 pm

play him up front in a 442 with kuyt and riera on the wings, he prefers it there and he can’t defend, him and torres would make a frightening partnership. we definitely shouldn’t sell him as along with torres and gerrard he is our most exciting player in terms of skill and pace, his use of the ball will improve with experience. we let aguero slip through our fingers, don’t lets spurn another great player…

we didnt need to buy keane we should have put kuyt and riera on the wings then play babel and torres upfront

[...] Babel up for grabs in January? | Kop-TV Speculation over Babel being up for grabs in January. I know that this does seem very less likely, but if somehow Benitez does let him go, I’d fuckin hate him for the rest of my entire life. I feel sorry for the kid. He came to Anfield with high expectations & we thougt we’d see him do stuff for us. But Benitez just ddidn’t give him any real chance & his stubborness is runing the kid’s reputation in my opinion. __________________ Man who eats photo of father, soon spitting-image of father. Totally agree with the comment above ’bout babel bein ideal strike partner for torres. We didn’t need to go and waste all that cash on nobby keane, but come to think of it, we didnt need to waste it on all the other shite in the team either- think: dossena(thug),degan(pussy),ngog(pointless),lucas(useless/women),plessis(rubbish) and Bennyonion(completely one dimensional). Time to start integrating the local lads into the team more, like spearing, and darby…least they’d show a lot more desire and passion in their game, even if they are only kids….but i know it won’t happen…its more likely that rafa will go and spend another 10m on some other useless shite…

Insua needs to be brought in for Dossena and Aurelio.

Sell Benayoun, Pennant, Degen, Ngog, Lucas, Plessis and any other useless numpties to fund (yet another) plunge into the transfer market.

How much would the above bring in? £12-15m ?

keane is crap… worst striker in premier league now… we wasted so much money on him… damn the ferguson was rite to say us… we shld have used the money to buy a right side midfielder or a new defender.

  12. frank on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 5:38 am

Sell him ???? Must be joking. Since Torres is currently sidelined, play Babel as the main striker. He love this position.

  13. Braveheart on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 7:37 am

    Sell Babel? Rubbish!
What does he have? Size, speed, fearless, enthusiasm. Plus adequate skills, which will improve with experience.
I see him as the perfect partner for Torres, if Torres ever stays fit long enough. Keane as the reliever (N’Gog isn’t ready yet).

THe goal against chelsea at the bridge during last season’s champs league was legendary. Not to mention the winner against Man Utd. Would be really sad to see him go…but most likely this weekend benitez will go with kuyt and keane with benayoun and riera on the flanks….or mascherano and alonso with gerrard backing keane up front

  15. anfieldenergy on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 9:05 am

Give them Keane. Babel can play as s sub for Riera or partner with Torres.

  16. b on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 12:10 pm

we are joint top of both major leagues you morons!
    how can you criticise?

  17. Torres on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 5:37 pm

    Or even 10 mil€+Babel—–>Real
    Ramos—>Liverpool
    Works for me :)

  18. Torres on Fri, 28th Nov 2008 5:40 pm

    Or even Babel+10 mil €—->Real
    S.Ramos—–>Liverpool
    WORKS 4 ME :)

  19. F***Hicks on Sun, 30th Nov 2008 1:41 pm

    S. Ramos is valued well above 25 mil. easy double that, so that wont happen. Keane for 20mil was too high of a price, I agree that money needs to be spent on a left and right back as well as a right winger. 3 players is all we need. Didnt Babel play on the right wing before we signed him?? Imagine Riera and Babel on the wings feeding Torres and Keane or Kuyt with Gerrard just behind them. If this transfer talk is true Rafa needs to wake up and ask himself, why does Real want this player who hasnt got that much game experience? Because he is THAT good! same as the Milan rumor for Agger. However we need to make up our minds. Last year rafa was being critisized for his “Rotation”. He has a winning formula now, and yet we are still not happy. I guess thats what an 18 year dry spell does.

If this happen, I will burn my red shirt, cause too much talent have gone to stay as a supporter of Liverpool Fc, Crouch, Sinama Pongolle, Luis Garcia, and so on..
What thats hell, we should build on talents and not waste them in selling them when they start to bloom. Benitez is fucking stupid and if this asshole did so again, its better support another team, maybe Hull city. I regret to say this but my hope has to go, since there’s nothing concrete to stronger and better the squad.. Benitez should really go along with these American retarded who don’t have any dollar to spend.
