Babel seeks improvement
Published by Daniel Watchorn on August 21, 2008
The promising Dutch winger has vowed to improve his game following his return from the Olympics, having helped the Netherlands to the quarter-finals.
“I’m just focusing now on getting my fitness levels back up to 100 per cent,” said Babel, who missed Euro 2008 with an ankle injury, to the official site. After that, we will see what players the manager brings in during the transfer market and what my role in the team could be,” Babel interestingly alluding to a possible change of position.
Babel could return for Liverpool’s first home game of this Premier League season against Middlesbrough at the weekend and will hope to make an immediate impact.
“But this will be my second season at Liverpool, and hopefully I can take my game to the next level.”
Babel scored 10 goals in 49 appearances for Liverpool last season.
