Fabio Aurelio hopes to forge a good partnership with winger Albert Riera down the left hand side.
Riera is expected to make his first appearance for the Reds while the full-back will return to the squad this weekend against Man Utd after passing a fitness test and is expected to get the nod to start.
“Albert had a very good season at Espanyol last year,” Aurelio told the offish site.
“We were looking for a left winger with quality and he is a good signing for us.
“He is a player who has pace, can cross good balls and score goals. He will be a very good option for the boss and will improve the level of the team.
“I have been training with him during the international break and he is a player you can link well with. I hope the boss can play us together and we can do the same things against our rivals on Saturday.”
