Another member of “The Best Midfield in the World” enters the Anfield Departure Lounge
Javier Mascherano has dropped a bombshell by declaring he want’s to leave England and play his football elsewhere, with Italy in his sights.
“At Liverpool I have found my home. I am committed and I cannot complain about how the city has accepted me since I came here, however I feel that now the time has come to move on. I would like to leave the Premiership. A move to Juventus? Well I like to travel.” said the Argentine International.
Mascherano’s agent Walter Tamer fuelled speculation yesterday when he admitted that his client was likely to be playing in Italy next season.
Javier’s agent, Walter Tamer, also confirmed that our midfield maestro is bound to ply his trade in Italy next season.
“Liverpool have not made any offer at all to buy Javier and it is likely that he will go to Italy next season” he said.
This will come as bad news to many Kopites who we’re hoping that our club would do everything they could to keep the majority of “The Best Midfield in the World” at Anfield.
It is also being widely-reported that we only have to stump-up an initial £4million of his £17million price-tag, with the remainder being in instalments over 18 months, but that appears to be too much for the Anfield money-men.

If Mashcherano leaves our club Rick Parry should go with him. It is nothing bit a disgrace that this lad hasnt been signed. The clubs owners must step in and keep Javier here, if they want to make a statement of intent. He alongside FT have been outstanding this season in what has been a very poor team
Well apparently our owners are about to stump up some cash to keep Javier with us … i’ve read many times that we only have to find £4m upfront too, dunno if thats true or not though.
