Anfield switch could still be on for Mali star

A decision is to be made by Real Madrid sports director Pedja Mijatovic and team manager Bernd Schuster with regards to Liverpool-target Mahamadou Diarra’s future.

“I hope that he remains,” said Mijatovic. “He is contracted. We have not had any formal offer for Diarra. He must know that we are happy with him.

“He arrived last year and won the League and this year we are on the right track. We must sit down with him and the coach and make a decision.” he added.

The Mali international’s agent has already confirmed Benitez’s interests along with a host of Serie A clubs all pining for the midfielders signature.
