Alonso demands move away from Anfield

Cracks are beginning to develop at Liverpool with Xabi Alonso being the latest person to get involved in the Gareth Barry saga by demanding a move away from Anfield.
Xabi, who had been a mute spectator in the whole transfer, finally broke his silence yesterday by demanding a move away from Anfield.
Alonso has been pursued by a number of clubs including Arsenal and Juventus but all of them refused to meet Benitez’s evaluation of the player. The Spanish playmaker hasn’t submitted a transfer request yet but has asked the club to increase their efforts to sell him, a news that will alert Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal are the only club to have made an enquiry about the player but are not willing to meet Liverpool’s evaluation of the player. But if they make a decent offer, Rafa will be forced to accept it as he continues to pursue his interest in Gareth Barry.
The Spanish manager was denied the funds to buy Barry, with the board calling Barry “over-priced”. However, if Rafa sells Alonso, then he may be able to get the Barry deal financed.
The Liverpool manager remains confident of a resolution before the close of the transfer window, however. “We continue working and we have time. I have some players in mind,” he added
