£50m+ for Gerrard!

More reports are surfacing regarding Steven Gerrard’s Liverpool future as the News of the World, amongst several online sources, are stating that La Liga giants Real Madrid are ready to break-the-bank with a move for our Captain Fantastic.

Several figures are circulating ranging from a modest £35million to an eye-watering £55million, which is sure to tempt the money-men at Anfield, especially if we fail to claim the all-important fourth-spot which would give us Champions League football for next season.

Gerrard has been in fine form this season, along with Fernando Torres, who appears to be carrying a lacklustre team, which could indicate to the scouser that perhaps his time has come to move on to pastures new.

However manager Rafa Benitez will fight tooth and nail to keep his prized star as he plans a mass squad re-build during the summer months, with Gerrard at the heart of the team.

Inter Milan are also understood to be preparing a big-cash raid as reported here.

Yeah I heard Inter would make him their number 1 priority.

I’m pretty sure not even money could tempt him away from Anfield.

I used to think like that until he agreed to move to the chavs, even though he made a sharp u-turn on the deal, I think it will depend on CL qualification and how much money Rafa is given to rebuild his squad which simply is not good enough to bring home #19.

I dont think it will be the end of the world if gerrard leaves. dont get me wrong hes fantastic but if we can get that price we could really strengthen the team. lets face it we need someone like cristiano: creative, attractive football and someone who can create something out of nothing. we need to strengthen our squad, we have too many average rated players i.e voronin,kuyt,kewell,benayoun,crouch,lucas. we need more players like torres, gerrard,mascherano,babel,carra,reina who are way above average. i have scouted some players and i think these guys really fit the bill!

Ricardo Quaresma, winger (age 24)
Hatem Ben Arfa, A.midfielder (age 20)
Karim Benzema, striker (age 20)

Trust me these guys are fantastic with plenty of room for improvement.look up some videos of them.Someone please suggest these players to Rafa before chelsea or some other team snaps them up!

Well one man certainly isn’t a team so no it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he did go, but you have to admit that we are being carried by this man and if he had indeed gone through with “that” move to Chelsea, we would have seriously struggled to reach anything like 4th spot in the league.

I’m sure the players you mentioned have been earmarked by Rafa (never heard of Arfa though) but I guess it depends on how much money he is given in the summer to rebuild and improve his squad.

plays 4 leon. they call him the new brazilian wonder kid! amazing to watch, hes got pace, skill and an eye for goal. he came on near the end against man u other night in champions league. id love it if gerrard stayed because we need english players and yes he does carry the team but just feel we need additions

Hatem Ben Arfa isn’t Brazilian, he’s french!? We need sergio Aguero, Rafinha, Matias Fernandez, but most of all, we need to keep Gerrard!

rafa have to be ruthless.
players like arbeloa, aurelio, riise, kewell, crouch, voronin, benayoun, pennant and kuyt can’t bring us the title.
we should get someone like, quaresma, aguero, benzema, eto’o, villa, henry, rafinha, daniel alves and ronaldinho to make liverpool title contenders.
